New Member Application Process
MODUS Fine Art is a gallery and professional artist community located in the former home of Coeur d’Alene’s beloved Art Spirit Gallery. We showcase the work of local contemporary artists who are experts in their craft and firmly dedicated to the advancement of art within our community. Presenting freshly curated exhibits each month, we display work that is original in thought and creation, representing a broad range of mediums and methods.
MODUS is owned and operated by five Coeur d’Alene artists. Together with a group of contributing member artists, we work to support and challenge one another, sharing space, effort and a vision to continue the legacy of exceptional fine art created right here in our region.
NEW MEMBER APPLICATION PROCESS
In order to offer the greatest visibility and representation to our artists, MODUS limits its membership to a maximum of 24 artists. When member openings become available, we will send out an open call. New member applications follow a 3-Stage review process for acceptance:
STAGE 1: Current members review a new application according to the Criteria for New Member Review (below.) These score values are averaged. Scores totalling 40 or above move on to Stage 2. (Maximum score: 60)
STAGE 2: Gallery leadership review. This may include an informal meet and greet or studio visit. (Maximum score: 40)
Stage 1 & 2 combined values of 80 or above will move to final selection.
STAGE 3 final selection: In the event that there are more approved applicants than spaces available, then the spots will be decided by a final membership vote.
